Final Assessment: Module 1


Module 1: Develop Your Plan

As professionals, one of the most important lessons we can learn is this one, as expressed by American football Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant: "It's not the will to win that matters - everyone has that. It's the will to prepare to win that matters."

You want an A in this course -- everyone does -- but you must be willing to prepare to win (i.e. earn) the A. Now is your opportunity to do just that!

The first module is simple enough: Develop Your Plan! Your plan should be completed before 23 November. Create an Action Plan in a Word document. Title the document: YourFirstName_GUSTID_AP.docx. Click here for a Sample Action Plan. The Action Plan will consist of the steps or projects that you must complete as you fulfill the requirements for your Final Assessment. List each step or project and include a date as to when you will complete that portion of the plan. Contact Ms. Majda for assistance with your Action Plan.

Few people plan. Instead of reading, thinking, and then creating a plan, too many people dive into the work to get it out of the way. Or they wait until a day or two before the project is due and then they get busy. Doing that won't earn you an A! I'm recommending that you take the time to think through the steps of the project (make your plan) before you start.

There are six modules to the Final Assessment. When they are posted on the blog, spend time reading and re-reading the information, making certain you understand it, and then list the action steps in your plan, along with a completion date. Here are the names of the six modules:

5  Build the Content

6  Market Your Blog

There's a lot of work to be done, but if you plan carefully you will be able to complete the project with time to spare!

One more time: Make a plan before you begin! That's module #1!
